More N.Z. wine for Australia
PA Wellington Wine exports for the six months to December 31, 1983, were almost three times higher than for the whole of the previous June year, according to figures compiled by the Trade and Industry Departments. The figures also showed that New Zealand’s share of the Australian market by volume was 1.9 per cent, while the share by value was 2.9 per cent. Victoria was the biggest market, taking 55 per cent of New Zealand wine imports, followed by Queensland, with 26 per cent, and South Australia, 16 per cent The executive officer of the Wine Institutes of New Zealand, Mr Terry Dunleavy, said the increase in Australia was the result of planned campaigns.
