Credit-card frauds rise
PA Auckland Credit card frauds in Auckland increased more than 470 per cent last year, and Detective Senior-Ser-geant B. P. Kemp, of the fraud squad, says the figure is likely to rise. The rise in credit card frauds, from 46 in 1982 to
258, was the biggest in any of Auckland’s crime category last year. Mr Kemp said police were discussing with credit card companies better methods of distributing cards and ways to prevent misuse.
