First for Canty boxing
Mrs Myra Barry has created a unique piece of history in Canterbury boxing by becoming the first woman president of the provincial association. Last year she made history at national level when she became the first vice-president to be elected to the New Zealand Amateur Boxing Association.
Mrs Barry had previously served as the Canterbury association’s secretarytreasurer for six years. She retired from that position last year because of other commitments but remained a member of the management committee. This year she has returned with a bigger workload. As well as president, she ist also tregjprer.
