Inter-centre bowls
PA Wellington Bay of Plenty drew on its experience to win the John Flett trophy national junior inter-centre bowls finals in Wellington yesterday. In a tight finish, the Bay of Plenty team pipped the defending champions, Wellington, by two points.
Otago Central had led with a
four-point margin after Saturday’s play, but three losses for the southerners in the fourth round yesterday gave Bay of Plenty the lead. Final standings: Bay of Plenty 21, Wellington 19, Otago Central 18, Christchurch 12, Counties 12, Wanganui 8.
