Lion chairman appointed
Admiral Sir Gordon Tait has accepted an invitation to join the board of Lion Breweries, Ltd. and has been appointed the chairman of the company. Sir Gordon succeeds the late John Macfarlane who died at Christmas. Sir Gordon is also chairman of Mt Cook Northland, a director of the Mount Cook Group, Todd Motors Corporation, Todd Bros, and a member of the New Zealand board of the Westpac Banking Corporation. He is also president and chairman of trustees of the New Zealand Sports Foundation, the chairman of the New Zealand Family Trust (Telethon 83), and a member of the Spirit of Adventure Trust Board.
