Sisters still critical
PA Rotorua The condition of the two sisters critically ill in Rotorua Hospital with botulism is unchanged. Anti-toxin was given the women soon after its arrival by air from Wellington on Wednesday afternoon.
The medical superintendent at the hospital, Dr K. F. Greene, said the women were still being, fed intravenously and were on life-support systems. The Medical Officer of Health, Dr A. Millar, said there was no reason to believe that mussels collected from Maketu Beach, which were thought to have caused the illness, were polluted.
