Dear Sir now at Kerrytown

Special correspondent Invercargill Dear Sir has joined Richard Brosnan’s Kerrytown stable. The Sir Dalrae four-year-old was taken home by Brosnan after racing at Forbury Park on Saturday evening. “At 16 hands, he is a big horse and is not handling small tracks well,” his owner-breeder-trainer, Colin Baynes, of Otama, said yesterday. “Richard has agreed to take him for a month and I am hopeful bigger tracks like Addington will suit him better.” Baynes thought Dear Sir was coming back to peak health after being troubled slightly by a niggling virus complaint. Dab Chick, also owned by Baynes, was a first-up winner in Imin 59.6 s from Brosnan’s stable earlier this month. Dab Chick, since retired because of injury, has returned a positive test to the Albatross horse, Double Century.
