‘Street’ still leads
NZPA-AAP London “Coronation Street” reigns supreme as king of British television . . . even 14.75 million “Thorn Birds” viewers were not enough to dethrone Hilda Ogden and the Rovers Return gang. According to the latest survey figures, “Thorn Birds” did, however, rank third-most-popular show of the week, giving the 8.8. C. its highest position for some time. The “Daily Mirror” says the top two spots predictably went to “Coronation Street,” shown in Britain twice a week on the commercial ITV network, with about 15 million viewers each day.
