Lendl, McEnroe rematch
NZPA-Reuter Philadelphia The top seed, Ivan Lendl, of Czechoslovakia, faces John McEnroe in today’s final of the 5NZ460.000 professional indoor tennis championships after beating Yannick Noah, of France, 6-3, 6-4 yesterday. The confrontation between Lendl and McEnroe is a rematch of last year's final which the American won in four sets.
Lendl admitted he would have to forge a new strategy against McEnroe. •The two have split in their 16 career meetings, eight wins each, but McEnroe has won four of the last five matches, including the final of the Volvo Masters in New York two weeks ago, 6-3, 6-4, 6-4. In the other semi-final, McEnroe beat Wojtek Fibak, of Poland, 6-2, 7-6 (7-5).
