Tekapo gets facelift
Tekapo correspondent The Tekapo landscape is changing rapidly. A new squash courts, shopping block, and ice skating rink are being built, and the Tekapo River’s west bank is being landscaped. The new squash courts, unofficially opened, have proved popular during the summer, holidays. The new -shops ire being developed by Mr Leo Leon- •
ard, of Timaru. They have a high gabled structure, colonial bay windows with schalage glass and a front wall of Central Otago rock. The ice skating rink has - been nearly completed by the Ministry of Works and Development. A 300 sq m hut has been built and water has yet to be laid on. The river bank opposite ’ the Church of the Good Shepherd is being bevelled 1 and landscaped.
