Speakers confer
PA Wellington Bewigged and robed Speakers and presiding officers from 26 Commonwealth countries gathered at Parliament yesterday morning for their seventh annual conference. The conference, opened by the Governor-General,
Sir David Beattie, is intended to give an opportunity for the Speakers to strengthen and develop Parliamentary rules and customs. It is being held in the legislative chamber at Parliament and will finish on Wednesday.
