Escaper convicted
PA Auckland An Auckland woman who eluded the police for 17 months after she escaped from prison was convicted yesterday for escaping.
Deborah Susan Holdem, aged 21, escaped from the Paparua Women’s Prison near Christchurch in June, 1982, the North Shore Dis-
trict Court was told yesterday. The police prosecutor, Sergeant Les Green, said Holdem had since married and had a baby. Holdem admitted the
charge of escaping and was convicted by Judge Murray. She was remanded to February 10 for a probation report and sentence.
