Lewis in quarter-finals
NZPA Stuttgart, West Germany Chris Lewis, fresh from the Wimbledon final and the Davis Cup tie against Sweden, downed an American, Sammy Giammalva, 26, 6-0, 6-2, yesterday to advance to the quarterfinals of the SUSIOO,OOO Stuttgart tennis tournament. Australian, John Alexander, a West German, Andreas Maurer, and Heinz Guenthardt, of Switzerland. Teacher knocked out his compatriot, Brad Gilbert, 64, 6-0, and Mitton defeated an American, Sandy Mayer, 7-6, 6-3. Alexander beat Wojtek Fibak, of Poland, 6-3, 6-7, 76. Maurer defeated his compatriot, Hansjoerg Schwaier, 7-5, 6-0, and Guenthardt beat an American, Eric Fromm, 6-0, 6-3.
