Crucial basketball games for Canty

This week-end will decide which South Island senior men’s Countrywide league basketball team has to play promotion -relegation matches at Lower Hutt next week-end. 3ZM Canterbury and Dat-siiii-Bowater-Nelson both share the second-last spot in the league. Canterbury travels to Auckland this morning to play Drake Personnel this evening and Metro tomorrow afternoon. Nelson will play Napier, at Napier today. Although equal in competition points, Canterbury has twice beaten Nelson this season and under the rules of the New Zealand Basketball Federation, these wins will place it above Nelson should both teams end the league with an equal number of points.
