Picasso prints
Original etchings and lithographs by two of the great names in world art, Pablo Picasso and Pietro Annigoni, are on display in Christchurch this week. The exhibition of the 16 works opened at the Small Gallery in the Shades Arcade yesterday and will run until Saturday, after which it will be taken to Wellington and Auckland. The five Picasso etchings were supplied from agents and former friends of the artist in Barcelona. All are
from editions of 50. Although none of them have been previously sold or owned, they are shown in the official catalogue of Picasso’s work. The 11 Annigoni lithographs included in the exhibition have been supplied by the artist himself. Each one is a signed artist’s proof from an edition of 99. All the works are for sale. The Picasso etchings range from $2125 upwards and the Annigoni lithographs start at $6BO.
