‘Let’s Golf’ campaign
The “Let’s Golf” campaign in the South Island starts at Waitikiri today with two of New Zealand’s most illustrious golfing sons showing the way. Simon Owen and John Lister will play nine holes with two unnamed Waitikiri juniors, starting at 2.30 p.m. and at 4.30 p.m. a clinic will
start on the practice fairway. This will be conducted by Owen, Lister and Waitikiri’s professional, Peter Davis, and will be for the benefit of juniors from the host club, its near neighbour, Windsor, and two other clubs in that area of Christchurch, Avondale and Waimairi Beach.
