Sunday drinking
Sir,—With reference to M. A. Hogan’s thoughts on the Young Nationals with regard to Sunday drinking (May 3) may I applaud him on some points. However, the Sunday drinking legalisation was advocated by the Canterbury-West-land chairman, and is not supported by all branches. The Selwyn Young Nationals, of which I am one, are a group of responsible, mature people with a genuine concern for problems in society and a definite interest in issues, large or small, in this country. There are more important and pressing problems facing people today. Therefore, for the interest of M. A. Hogan there are Young Nationals who are capable of thinking clearly and logically.— Yours, etc.,
CRAIG G. ALLAN, Vice-chairman, Selwyn Young Nationals. May 6, 1983.
