New arm for B.N.Z.
NZPA Sydney The Bank of New Zealand has established a corporate banking division in Australia to meet an expected increase in trans-Tasman banking demands after the signing of the Closer Economic Relations agreement with Australia. the bank said in a statement.
The regional manager, Mr Rex Edmonds said the move also reflected the continued strengthening of BNZ services in an increasingly competitive banking industry.
Mr Graham Brown had been appointed the manager of the new corporate banking division' in the BNZ regional office for Australia. Mr Brown was a former financial consultant. Before that he was with Partnership Pacfic, Ltd, and Euro-Pacific Finance Corp. Ltd.
The BNZ is only one of two overseas-owned banks with an Australian banking licence.
