Boy dies after cave-in
PA Wellington A boy who was trapped in a hole in a backyard sandpit in Waikanae on January 2 died in Wellington Hospital’s intensive-care unit yesterday. He was Jamie Anderson, aged six, of Lower Hutt. A Waimauku schoolboy died in a similar accident on January 5, when he was buried in sand at the Kaipara Heads last Wednesday. The boy. Dean Robert Maxwell, aged 15, was digging a cave in sand when it collapsed.
