Official visit planned
NZPA Kuala Lumpur --Malaysia's Prime Minister, Jfetuk Seri .Mahathir Mohamad, says he hopes to loake an official visit to New Zealand this year to" Strengthen bilateral relations. : -tin newspaper interviews published on Saturday, he said that he would also visit Japan. year, and possibly Finland, Australia, and Mali. The visits were aimed at enhancing bilateral co-opera-tion and trade'ties. An official spokesman said that the Prime Minister’s intinerary had not yet been finalised. Dr Mahathir, who became Prime Minister in July, 1981, has pursued a more active foreign policy than his predecessor Tun (then Datuk) Hussein Onn.
