Indonesia’s oil output to rise
XZPA-Reuter Jakarta Indonesia, which for the last nine months has held down oil production to an 0.P.E.C.-mandated 1.3 million barrels a day. will increase output to 1.5 million barrels a day in 1983. the Oil Minister, Dr Subroto. said in an interview reported by Anta ra news agency. He said the increase was aimed at boosting exports to one million barrels a day. Indonesia had planned to ask for approval of the increase at last month's meeting of O.P.E.C. (the Organisa-
tion of Petroleum Exporting Countries) said Dr Subroto. The increased production would still be below its prequota output of 1.6 million barrels. Since April last year. Indonesian crude exports have been running as low as 800.000 barrels. However, industry experts said this was more the result of market conditions than the quota level. The Minister was speaking after opening a rural electrification project in East Timor
