Arson charges admitted

PA Wellington An unemployed youth, aged 17. pleaded guilty to 10 charges of arson when he appeared in the District Court at Wellington. The defendant's name was suppressed on psychiatric grounds. Sergeant M. Grey said that between November 15 and December 1 the defendant lit 10 fires in large Wellington citv flats. Most of the fires were put out before serious damage resulted. Total damage amounted to $12,700. Judge Kerr remanded the defendant in custody to December 17 for sentence in the High Court.
