HART to consider legal action
HART is considering taking legal action against a police officer who opposed bail in the District Court yesterday for a man he claimed was known as a HART member. Ari area officer for HART, Mr J. Davies, said last evening that his organisation did not have a membership. “People are either involved or they are not,” he said. Mr Davies said that HART did not accept credit or responsibility for individual activities and was a nonviolent organisation. He was reacting to remarks made during the hearing of a charge of throwing an ignited smoke bomb into the yard of the Christchurch Central Police Station on Wednesday against John David Bridges.
