Ovarian cancer
Sir,—Several of us in the United States afflicted with ovarian cancer are organising an “Ovarian Cancer Outreach” programme with anyone who has been treated for cancer of the ovary. The purpose of the programme is to exchange views and comparative discussion with respect to individual histories, treatment, etc., of the disease. Anyone interested should, contact me.— Yours, etc., '

Mr Brezhnev’s death Sir.—Unlike R. H. England (November 15) and J. B. Stevens (November 18) I do not feel outraged that flags in this country were flown at half mast as a tribute and mark of respect to the Soviet leader, Mr Brezhnev. I have never met the man. nor have I ever lived in a communist country, yet like most American Presidents he seemed an able man — what I saw of him through the media. I did live in Australia for 10 years and know what a Kiwi and an Aussie are. I believe I am an Australasian in outlook and I find I do not judge others harshly; nor do I have the outlook of some small-minded folk I know on both sides of the Tasman. May Mr Brezhnev rest in peace and let perpetual light shine upon him. — Yours, etc., PETER J. A. HARRINGTON. November 22, 1982.
