Karori wins basketball
PA Palmerston North Burroughs Karori, of Wellington, won the $l5OO premier grade basketball title from the favourite, Y.M.C.A. Countrywide (Auckland) in the Coruba tournament men’s final yesterday. Karori, ahead 30-29 at half-time. eventually clinched the match. 58-55, shrugging off sustained
second-half pressure. In the women's premier final. Napier Sunhawks stretched a 24-6 half-time advantage to a $750 47-35 victory over Wellington's Beanies. Minor placings in the men's premier division went to Napier Sunhawks and Palmerston North's Massey team, third and fourth respectively.
