Choir Path prevails

From J. J. BOYLE Wellington Mr Graham Bradley, an Eltham farmer who had some success as a trotting owner,,is also having some rewarding days in the galloping scene, with his hometrained Choir Path. One of those days came at Trentham yesterday when the four-year-old son of Bandmaster II triumphed in a cliff hanger of a finish to the Nainai Handicap, second leg of the T.A.B. double. Choir Path came under strong pressure in a sustained struggle with Sweet Nell, then Greek Meer joined in on a late charge downagainst the. rails and there was no telling which way it would end up until the last stride. Only half heads separated them, and the nod of the head, favouring as it did Choir Path, the horse in the

middle, gave his apprentice rider Paul Worthington his tenth success. Greek Meer was travelling a shade faster than the winner and the runner-up within the last 100 m. Bill Skelton was pumping for all he was worth on the chestnut, which like the winner is trained on the Stratford track. If there had been another hour of rain yesterday Greek Meer, the biggest. stake earner in the field and a noted mud runner, would Jiave almost certainly won.
