Collection of clippings

Sir.—During a recent drought in New South Wales, city residents were given the chance to make a worth-while contribution. The scheme was the collection of lawn clippings. May I suggest that the local councils place collection bins at various suburban locations where people may deposit

their lawn clippings. I feel sure there must be a cartage contractor prepared to deliver these bins (filled) to those farmers in need. With a little effort we are then contributing something to help relieve the drought. — Yours, etc.,
