Water divining

Sir.—ln regard, to L. Hutchinson (September 6) I have these comments to make: First, who better-,than a magician to expose the nonsensical hocus-pocus involved in water divining. Second, proficiency in water divining is a contradiction in terms. Third,, nobody can divine water any more frequently than would be expected by chance,- and if your correspondent ‘ “has difficulty with this point I- suggest recourse to a textbook of probability.—Yours. etc.; . JOHN WELD. September 6, 1982.
