PA Hamilton Waikato bounced back to form with a convincing 23-13 win over North Auckland in a national first division rugby:"; ‘Championship “at Rugby Park yesterday. Scoring four tries to two, Waikato turned in a solid forward performance, while the quickness of its new halfback, Graeme Holmes enabled the flat-standings closeformation Waikato backline to show its true class. With Hud Rickit soaring to win lineouts, the pack driving and scrummaging strongly, and Arthur Stone playing with renewed vigour
at centre, the home team could easily have led by more ’ than 15-3 at halftime. v . North Auckland, with Neil Ruddell its most outstanding forward, was able to sort out the lineouts in the second half and won a lot more second-phase ball, thanks to Ruddell and the flanker, Stu Clarke.
