Tpt N.C. profit 6.3 p.c. higher
The unaudited profit before taxation of Transport North Canterbury Holdings. Ltd. rose 11.7 per cent to $451,049 in the six months ended March 31, the directors announced. Provision for taxation is $22,000 (last year no provision required). The unaudited profit after taxation is $429,049 (last year $403,648), an increase of 6.3 per cent. The share register will
close at 5 p.m. on July 16 and reopen on July 19 at 9 am. The directors have confirmed the payment of an interim dividend of 7c a share (7 per cent) (last year 7 per cent) of which 2c a share (2 per cent) (last year 3 per cent) will be paid from realised capital profits and thus be tax-free in shareholders hands, subject to approval of the Inland Revenue Department.
