Tourism
Sir,—lf more access to our National Parks were made available to both New Zealand and overseas tourists, it would K be a tremendous boost for tourism in the South Island: Use of the parks by the public . should be more extensive. This, of course, would need to be controlled, and could be done by the development of holiday settlements within park boundaries. Although such a scheme would be very costly, if some of the vast sums of money intended for “Think Big” were channelled into tourism, it Would surely . show a better return on investment for New ' Zealand.— Yours, etc., ■’ D. G. HEARD (Mrs).
