Power boater killed
NZPA London A power boat racer David Mason, aged 42, died yesterday during an Embassy Grand Prix race at Bristol docks. His boat somersaulted and disintegrated on the fast straight in the final event of
the afternoon. Crowds of more than 100,000 — including his wife — watched in horror as his body was recovered. The circuit is regarded as the most dangerous in the world and has previously claimed the lives of other power boat racers.
