Triple jump record
NZPA-Reuter Provo, Utah Keith Connor of Britain made the second longest triple jump ever when he cleared 17.57 metres at the National Collegiate Athletic Association track and field championships yesterday. Connor, a Southern
Methodist University student from Slough, England, bettered his own British Commonwealth record of 17.16 metres set in 1980. Only Brazil’s Joao Oliveria, who set the world record of 17.89 metres in 1975, has jumped further.
