Girls’ Brigade promotion
Girls’ Brigade companies throughout New Zealand will hold a promotional campaign from June 8 to June 15. It will, be marked in Christchurch by a stall in Cathedral Square on Wednesday, June 9, to recruit new members and to raise funds. There will also be displays during the week at- the youth corner in Christchurch Cathedral, in the windows of the Civic Chambers in Tuam Street, and in a number of shopping malls.
Members will be encouraged to wear their brigade uniforms to school on Thursday, June 10, to promote the movement and, in the evening, a speciaTservice will be held at St Ninian’s Church lounge in Riccarton to celebrate the Girls’ Brigade World Day of Prayer. Prayers will be offered for the Girls’ Brigade company in the Falkland Islands and for the world's poor, particularly those in African countries; .
