Society of Patriots
Sir,—The recent letter from Kenneth Gray, the self-styled director of the Society of Patriots, leads me to wonder by •what right .this group of Rightwing reactionaries assumes such a pretentious, and to me, offensive, title. One assumes the society is not incorporated, so there carl be no articles available for public scrutiny. As a former regular serviceman whose 26 years of service included World War 11, I consider myself as patriotic as the next man and I resent their use of the word “patriot.” True patriotism in today’s world does not mean battleships and anti-Semitism, but support for the concept of a nuclear-free Pacific. — Yours, etc., R. L. PLUCK. May 30, 1982.
