Driver aged 95
PA Auckland One of New Zealand’s oldest drivers, Mr Edward Foot, aged 95, has successfully passed his annual test to embark on his sixty-fourth year of driving. Mr Foot started driving-in 1918 and now divides his time between his homes in Auckland and Katikati by commuting between them regularly. / . His driver’s licence has no infringements but is almost
full of renewal payments receipts. ',i “By jove, the charges have gone up this, year. It might be cheaper to have taxis now instead of a car. The only thing is, it is handy to have your own,” he said. Mr ‘ Foot• attributes his long, safe driving record to not being aggressive behind the wheel. “I am not a speedster and I am not a boozer, although I am not against drink. I have a drop myself sometimes,” he said.
