Pupil-teacher ratio
Sir,—lt is heartening to see from recent correspondence to this column, that student teachers are aware of the desirability of lowering the pupil-teacher ratio in primary schools. I have as a parent, been fighting this cause, albeit unsuccessfully, for years, by lobbying M.P.s. Ministers of Education, education boards and the N.Z.E.I. Perhaps now, when the solution seems so simple, parents, teachers and students could work together and produce an effective voice against the continual attacks on education by the present Government.— Yours, etc., JAN ANDREWS.. May 31, 1982.
