PA Wanganui The Mobil song quest winner. Miss Linden Loader, of Wanganui,. is speaking again after more than a month. of silence. Miss Loader, . aged 20, who in February took , up the song quest's $5OOO scholarship to study under Dame Joan Hammond at the Victoria College of Arts in Melbourne, returned home in March when it was discovered that she had developed nodules on her vocal chords. ■
She was ordered not to, talk or sing, even in a whisper, until the nodules, which are like pinhead-sized corns, had healed.- Miss Loader said yesterday a WellingtoQ specialist had told her she was well enough to talk and could gradually start singing. She does not yet know when she will take up her scholarship. . “I can’t go from silence to four hours’ practice a day," she said.
