PA Auckland Solara, sailed by Kevin and Ross Macdonald, and Dictator, by the former Flying Dutchman forward hand, Murray Ross, tied for first yesterday in the off-shore selection trials for the Clipper Cup team to sail in Hawaii. These, and the third-placed
Southern Raider (Geoffrey Thorpe), are expected to be named as New Zealand's A team when teams are announced by the Royal Akarana Yacht Club selection panel tomorrow night It is expected that Bad Habits (Clive Colson), Anticipation (Don Brown) and Defiance (Kevin Lidgard) will make up the second team for the Hawaiian series.
