Buller forests
Sir, — People outside the West Coast may have gained the impression recently that all Coasters are anti-conservation. I would like to. point oul that there is a large body of opinion here in the Buller, concerned for the preservation of our remnant virgin lowland forest. We are concerned that the Buller Management Plan proposes to cut down 90 per cent of that forest and that only 4 per cent of our. workforce is actually involved- in forestry (including environmental and recreational branches), logging, milling, and wood processing. We appreciate anyone who shares our concern.’ — Yours, etc, MOSS DOWSON. ' April 13, 1982.
