T.C.A win netball
Superior fitness helped steer Teachers' College A to its first pre-season netball championship win since 1925 at the Hagley courts on Saturday. Teachers’ College B took second place in the tournament, which was played as a series of seven successive 10minute games for each team. Of the remaining teams, South Brighton moved the ball with speed round the court and could improve their standing from last
season, while Sacred Heart B were also impressive. Hagley A and Riccarton A played their usual brand of aggressive netball. Unfortunately, with the top three teams from last year not competing, the standard of the tournament was not as high as it might have been. In the senior reserve event. Technical A. with Eva Walker controlling the midcourt, was too strong on defence against Cashmere B and easily took out the title.
