South wing injured
Paul McCone, one of the wings in the South Island team to make part in the KB Cup rugby league tournament in Australia, is unlikely to play football again this season. The luckless McCone dislocated a hip during his club match for Linwood against Marist-Western Suburbs yes-
terday, and was admitted to Christchurch Hospital. A replacement for McCone in the South squad will be named today. A reserve, Stephen Ldw (West Coast), has considerable first-class experience as a wing, and it is probable another substitute back will be selected.
