Market drifts lower
A lack of hard company .news caused share prices to drift lower in busy trading on New Zealand slock exchanges yesterday. The N.Z.ILC. industrial index lost 2.56 points to close at 725.80. The report that Hauraki Enterprises and Atlas had called off merger discussions, made Hauraki’s price fall 15c to 125 c. Atlas was untraded. Among other second-line issues Manawafu Knitting Mills rose 31c ex dividend on its recent annual report which slated that its shares were undervalued, and E. Lichtenstein firmed 5c on a good profit result. Lane’s Industries lost 5c to 220 c under profit-taking and Radio Avon regained 7c to 112 c.
