Tristar to end
The Lockheed Corporation has said it has decided to end production of its Tristar L--1011 widebodied airliner by 1984. Lockheed’s chairman (Mr Roy Anderson) said the decision had been made because of lack of sufficient firm orders and uncertainty over future demand for the aircraft. Four versions of the Tristar, which can carry up to 400 passengers, have been produced since the airliner first flew in 1970. — Burbank, California.
