Air New Zealand

Sir,—How can Mr Rowling possibly state that our international airline has ever proved a viable operation. Rarely has a commercial unit been afforded such protection; rarely have a country’s resources been spent so lavishly with so little benefit and at such increased cost to the consumer. Air New Zealand epitomises the financial problems and all the attendant difficulties which face our country. It should be a model for study in the forthcoming election. Every Parliamentary candidate should be examined on its function. — Yours, etc., C. OLIVINE. October 27, 1981.
