Racing driver acquitted
NZPA-Reuter Milan, Italy A Milan court yesterday acquitted an Italian Formula One racing driver, Riccardo Patrese. of the manslaughter of the Swedish driver, Ronnie Peterson. The court also acquitted Gianni Restelli, the race official at the Monza circuit
where Peterson was fatally injured in the 1978 grand prix, who faced the same charge. The verdict, delivered after only a few minutes of deliberation, was greeted by applause from the public in the court which staged the first such trial in the history of motor racing.
