Jones reconsidering
NZPA London Alan Jones. Australian’s 1980 Formula One World Drivers’ Champion, is reconsidering his decision to retire, said a spokesman for the Williams motor racing team in London yesterday. The 34-year-old Australian, who finished third in this year’s championship, after winning the season’s last grand prix at Las Vegas on
October 17. has been given three weeks by the team’s boss, Frank Williams, to decide whether he will continue to drive for Williams. The driver’s stablemate, the 39-year-old Carlos Reutemann, of Argentina, second in this year’s grand prix standings after a shock eighth-place finish at Las Vegas, has yet to sign a new contract with the Williams team, the spokesman said.
