Peru Minister quits
Peru’s Interior Minister has resigned in protest over the death of a student demonstrator in police custody. The resignation of Jose Maria de la Jara, a respected lawyer, provoked the first Cabinet reshuffle since President Fernando Belaunde Terry took office 16 months ago after 12 years of military rule. The student, Antonio Ayerbe Flores, aged 19. died from head wounds after being arrested in an anti-Government protest. The police said the' wounds
were caused in a scuffle.— Lima.
