Hailwood conviction
NZPA Stratford-upon-Avon A truck driver was yester ; day convicted of careless driving for his part in the crash that killed the former world motor cycling champion, Mike Hailwood, and his nine-year-old daughter. Mr Hailwood’s widow, Pauline, was in Stratford magistrate's court to hear
Raymond Whitmore, aged 50, found guilty of the driving offence. Mr Hailwood, aged 40, the 10-time world champion, and his daughter, Michelle, both died of injuries suffered in the accident last March but his six-year-old son, David, escaped with minor injuries.
