Stop-work meetings
About 19.000 members of the Engineers’ Union in Canterbury. Nelson, and Westland are holding stopwork meetings to consider their award claims, which include a claim for a shorter working week. The meetings began more than a week ago and will continue this week. The first of the union's awards, the metal trades award, will come before the conciliation council on August 24.
